Abstract
This research study aimed to explore the gender-based barriers experienced by girls and women in sports in Pakistan. At the same time this to acquire a contemporary comprehension of barriers in Pakistani women in sports. Also investigate the sociocultural and socio-economic barriers that encounter in sports. And to explore the obstacles to the safety and harassment that girls face in sports in Pakistan.
By conducting the in-depth interviews from 5 female athletes those are also students of University of the Punjab to explore gender-based barriers in sports.
In short, gender was a key focus of this study. This thesis argues Girls and women reveal several gender-based barriers in sports, discussing and presenting sociocultural, socioeconomic and security barriers.
