Abstract
In the field of education, teacher burnout is a real concern. The purpose of this study is to find out the teachers’ burnout. This study was based on a quantitative research method. The population was all teachers of public and private colleges in Lahore. By convenient sampling technique, the researcher collected the data through a questionnaire. The sample consisted of teachers from all public and private colleges, totaling 200 teachers. The questionnaire was self-developed by the researcher. It contains 4 parts: 1) Demographic variables, 2) Teachers’ Burnout Factored as Exhaustion, Job-Related Stress, Detachment, Ineffectiveness, 3) Causes of Burnout, and 4) Preventive Strategies of Burnout. The questionnaire was designed on a Likert scale consisting of 40 items.
The results of the SPSS analysis were carried out to find out the teachers’ burnout. In their line of work, teachers deal with a lot of tension and overload. The researcher used descriptive analysis, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results indicate that burnout spreads all over the world and expands rapidly. The findings highlight that demographic variables vary among teachers. The finding of this study is that teachers are highly victims of burnout, which leads to stress and low performance, suggesting that organizations might make teachers feel uncomfortable in their jobs, causing stress. These findings may be utilized to design successful solutions for preventing and managing burnout and also to make colleges safer, pleasant, and comfortable for teachers.
