A total of one hundred and twenty heads of departments, deans and directors were selected as the sample from 8 universities; four from the public sector and four from the private sector. A questionnaire was developed by the researcher to measure the demographics and social factors regarding the social change. Data were collected by the researcher’s personal visit to the sample universities. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS16.0 for Windows Evaluation Version. Descriptive statistics used in the study were percentage, frequency, mean, and standard deviation. Chi-Square test, t-Test and ANOVA were used for the analysis of data. The overall results of the study indicate that university leaders act as the social change agents. In public sector universities the leadership is more concerned about the social change with respect to private sector universities.
