dc.description.abstractThe study was conducted to find out the relationship between gender differences and mate selection differences. It was hypothesized that a) there is like to be a significant difference between gender and mate selection preferences. The sample consisted of 100 participants (Men=46 and Women= 54) with the age range of above 20-30 years (M=23.15; SD= 2.67). Purposive sampling technique was used to recruit only those participants who fulfilled the inclusion criteria of research (Robinson, 2014). Data was collected through online and direct in person. Mate selection preferences scale was used to evaluate relationship between gender differences and mate selection preferences. Results were discussed with reference to western and indigenous researches. The results showed that there is highly significant and positive relationship between gender differences and mate selection preferences. Significant relationship between gender differences and mate selection preferences was found appreciative, aware of rights of others, belongs to same sect, broad minded, caring, communicative, faithful to spouse, good character, good looking, loving, obedient and understanding. Such investigations and research paper will benefit young adults better choose compatible spouse.
