Abstract
This project presents an educational 3D model designed to demonstrate the concepts of
weight, balance, and center of gravity (CG) in aircraft operations. Created as a hands-on
learning tool, the model aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world
application, offering students a tangible and interactive way to understand load planning in
aviation. This innovation is especially crucial in aviation education, where understanding
improper CG management can prevent future accidents as seen in historical cases like Air
Midwest Flight 5481 and National Airlines Flight 102. Beyond technical learning, this model
serves as a motivational symbol for prospective students, highlighting the University of
Management and Technology’s (UMT) commitment to practical, real-world training. For
incoming students at the Institute of Aviation Studies (IAS), the model will act as both a
learning asset and an attraction—inviting curiosity and inspiring enrollment in the BS Aviation
program. Built entirely by students—from initial sketches to final painting and assembly—this
project reflects the power of collaboration, creativity, and applied knowledge. The model now
stands as a permanent educational asset for faculty and future batches alike, offering flexible
use in classrooms, demonstrations, and orientations. It embodies the mission of aviation
education: to learn not just by reading, but by building, testing, and seeing flight principles
come to life
