Abstract
The work is all about catering all the business processes of several fundamental modules of an enterprise implementing an Enterprise Resource planning (ERP) System. It enables the client to get centralized control over the whole procedure deployed in the enterprise. An ERP system covers all the activities and records every instance of business transaction throughout the enterprise. It primarily emphasizes on the reusability approach. There are many advantages of deploying an ERP system in an enterprise. First of all, getting together all the departments at the single platform using a single database that ensures efficient and secure business transactions on all the levels. Secondly, keeping track of every kind of mismanagement, irresponsibility and theft or fraud. Thirdly, a well-managed record keeping of all the vendors, suppliers and other stakeholders on the enterprise level. And finally measuring the performance of the previous business years to identify the flaws and ambiguities and ensuring the continuous improvement of the overall business processes hence business as well. There are certainly many commercial ERP solution providers that are available in the market. But they are offering their business solutions at the cost that small and medium enterprise can never afford specially in the developing countries. So, the choice had been made to pick an Open Source ERP solution that is absolutely free to use and provides everything that commercial business solutions do provide. ADempiere was proven to be the best choice among all the Open source ERP systems being extremely reliable, tremendously efficient and amazingly secure. Roberts Rice (RR) & Processing Mills (Pvt) Ltd, leading rice and processing industry in Pakistan, intended to automate all their business processes that were partially manual in the past but well defined on the papers. We visited Roberts Rice (Pvt) Ltd to collect documentation from the administration and the whole industrial procedure was keenly observed. A clear and well defined work flows of all the activities had been written and implemented in the industry covering Master Data Management, Procurement Management, Production Management, Sales Management, Accounts Management and finally Report Management. ADempiere offers a lot of stuff but these modules were implemented keeping in view the need of the RR Administration. This documentation is a detailed description of the way how the deployed system should be used and it can be considered as help manual of the overall procedure of implementation for further development. Some of these manuals have been acknowledged by ADempiere development team and are available at their official website.
