Abstract
This research aims to discuss the debasing of women in the country, moreover issues regarding oppression, social class differences related to Pakistani women vacant in the autobiographical memoir, My Feudal Lord by Tehmina Durrani. It focuses on in what way women live in a socially barred situation, in which they feel pain and are let down from time to time. Employing textual analysis, this research is qualitative. Tehmina Durrani’s problem in her memoir, My Feudal Lord depicts the plight of Pakistani women in a male dominated culture. The theoretical foundation for this research is founded on Deniz Kandiyoti’s theory and practical bargain that correspondingly ties with post-colonial feminism, Muslim and the Western feminism, and feministic reading based on Barkty’s feminist point of view, as well as feministic ideas of French feminist Julia Kristiva. The selected memoir targets for exposing the hypocrisy of ruling elites in the country that showcase their women and considered them as an object of commodity, Pakistan generally and cruel nature of feudalists. This study examines the state of Pakistani Muslim women in the social order as a result of political compressions, as well as the competition for fundamental women’s rights and the struggle for agency in Pakistani society. There is constantly a patriarchal pressure on Pakistani women around which Tehmina Durrani has tried to showcase the real image and conditions of Muslim Pakistani women. Therefore, Tehmina Durrani turns to discover women’s position in male dominant society where women face a lot of allegations and issues. The autobiographical components of Tehmina Durrani’s writing add to the work’s value in demonstrating certainties and statistics. The current study provides a clear depiction of how far they have progressed in terms of basic women’s rights. Furthermore, Tariq| 6 the memoir’s portrayal of feminism and portrayal of feminism go hand in hand. Sexual harassment and violence against women, challenges to women’s identity, and high-level political influence are all examined in this study.
