But we are unable to see the interior of our own bodies, we are not capable to see the magic our bodies hold and the system they perform. We would surely be amazed and shocked to see the miracles our bodies perform every day, every minute and every second. If one has ever looked upon a microscopic scan of a human body cell, it is a fascinating thing to see. As a designer, we see things in a different perspective. While gazing upon a microscopic scan of a cell, it is noted to be in an abstract shape, everything about a human internal system is nothing but abstract art. It feels as though it is a mobile painting with such vibrancy of colors. The main theme and idea of this research report is to capture the unseen. To feel and to make other people feel the emotion of unveiling the things that are hidden from the naked eye through screen printing and digital printing. The unraveling of insides of the human body and how as a designer it has captured me to work upon the beauty of abstraction. With the modern ways of executing and displaying abstract art within the human body which is nothing but raw form of art and converting it into a piece of design with modern technologies.Item Islamic motifs(UMT, Lhr, 2018) Um-e-SaharThis is aimed to understand the construction and symbology behind Islamic motifs and its significance in the Muslim world. The most representational characteristics of two styles from different period of time: modern and historical Islamic styles. The achieve designs will depict contemporary composition without losing the element of old style. My main focus is to create such a designs through which a person can contact himself and understand the beauty and symbology behind motifs, which is of the presence of Divine. Techniques including laser cut, embellishment, embroidery, quilting, fabric manipulation, self-foil carving and different printings (block, stencil) etc. This might interesting to know about the new look of the “NAKOSH- a torch of class”.Item The silicon circuits (electrotex)(UMT, Lhr, 2018-06-23) Rafey AfzalThe Silicon circuits are the flat boards made-up of semiconductor material silicon and Germanium, used in electronics to conduct electronic signals. The tiny transistors and diodes are attached on it with engraved line pattern for electricity. As the word is dominated by electronic technology so silicon circuits are found in every gadget which comprise electronics such as cell phones, smart watch, computers and remote controls. The pattern on silicon circuits is unique and has an amazing green texture, some blue and purple circuits are also available. This texture can be used in textile art as there is no limit in creativity. Alexander McQueen, a well-known British textile designer has once used these patterns in fashion surface design in 1998; He has used the lines on circuit boards in his apparel collection and made some unique dresses out of it, although his work was limited to only single technique which was screen printing, he simply extracted the lines pattern out of silicon boards and have set repeats of it on fabric, more techniques were not experimented at that moment. A wide range of unique motifs could be extracted which can be merged with one another to form an interesting pattern which could be printed on fabric using some experimental techniques such as foil printing, glow printing, flock printing, and some digital prints can also be made. Furthermore 3D work would be added to enhance the true essence of modern day technology with LED lights, in additional more embroidery, fabric manipulation and fabric cut work would also be used on the final products. The final end product will be some westernize 3D dresses, which would be adding the high end techno look to the final collection, which will be the future of fashion creativity, as well as will symbolize the futurism, the dresses will be made for party wear having some elegant cuts and styles which will be wear in special occasions, along with dresses some innovative accessories will also be made to carry with dresses.Item Siempre frida(UMT, Lhr, 2018-08-13) Abira KhalidFrida Kahlo a Mexican artist, is famous for her self-portraits, pain and passion, vibrant and bold colors. In the current years, there has been a noteworthy rise of form and craftsmanship cooperation (FAC). Fashion and workmanship are two trains that spin around a similar circle, which is imagination. The two universes share a scaffold that connections the two together. Workmanship in its own perspective has completed humankind its circumstances and the universe of form has likewise been synonymous to it. The two mediums share a cozy relationship. Design has its profound roots set in self-expressionism, a way to demonstrate the world our identity by method for body enhancement and attire. Workmanship too has a tendency to explain the musings of the craftsman crosswise over to the observer, by the hues that have been utilized to the state of mind that the fine art realizes. These components could say a ton in regards to the craftsman and his identity, the same amount of as a dim cosmetics and tore pants could state in setting to self-expressionism in form. A broad writing audit gave rich data to the analyst to comprehend mold outline and craftsmanship joint efforts under examination and to shape theories about this partnership, which were tried and reached out in the exploration. Moreover, a survey of Paul Poiret and Elsa Schiaparelli's fixation on craftsmanship and their joint effort with specialists accomplished the goal of concentrate recorded cases of design and workmanship coordinated efforts.Item Astrology(UMT, Lhr, 2018) Riva BatoolAstrology is quiet common now a days. It was considered as some source of knowledge of the divine but is also read for fun now. The study of stars moon and galaxy is relatively interesting for those who have keen attentiveness in it. However the culture is famous among Pakistanis to read about stars and relate it to their personal lives but astrology is beyond the general information. We can gather a lot of things from it and apply it in our daily working career. Astrology literally means the study (or science, reliant on how one translates the Greek word logos) of the stars. Most people are aware with only a petite portion of the science of the stars, namely the 12 signs namely as Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. In this thesis work, the astrology is not directly related to the study of it but rather with the symbols and sign used accordingly to the fashion technique. Using a mixture of these signs to develop some new fashion look. Moreover using the variety of galaxy portions along with zodiac sign to bring something new to the field.Item Effect of noil extraction percentage on elastic and mechanical properties of 54/s cotton combed yarn affect(UMT Lahore, 2018) Muhammad Saeed; Mujahid NazarQuality of end product in spinning can improve significantly by combing and removing of short fibers. Combing process removes short staple fibers and eliminates the impurities which are present in carded sliver or in drawn sliver. In comber sliver, the fiber strands are straighter, parallel and align while the end yarn produced has smoothness, clear appearance, and more strength. If we check all the processes in yarn manufacturing in spinning process, the combing processes is the one which has a significant effect on improving yarn quality. The short fibers removed in the combing process are called Noil. The noil extraction in the combing process has a direct effect on yarn quality but it has a limitation as well because increasing the noil extraction also increases the cost of yarn. Trails have been carried out on carded yarn, along with 12%, 16% and 20% Comber Noil on 54/s yarn respectively while keeping the other parameters constant from blow room to winding and conditioning in spinning yarn manufacturing. Then the results for mechanical properties of yarn were compared for these noil percentages. We find as expected that the increasing noil extraction improves yarn quality but these improvement in results are getting less distinguishable as we go up extracting more noil. In our results, we find, there is less difference in the properties of yarn having Noil extraction between 16% and 20% respectively.Item Process optimization of indigo dyed cotton denim garment by enzymatic wash(UMT Lahore, 2018) Muhammad Abid SarwarDenim article of clothing is treated with cellulase. By varying parameters like temperature, processing time and concentration of different chemicals in variable slots of processed time novel effects are produced. The major examination through checking the physical parameters like shrinkage, elasticity, stretching to break, water absorption, weight loss, shading, blurring and morphological qualities are discussed. In order to obtain the wanted design impact like comfort capacity, least loss of strength, the indigo colored denim 100% cotton with twill weave 3/1 development was picked and was treated with different concentrations of cellulose ranging from 0.5% to 3.5%, temperature variations from 40-70oC in 20-60minutes duration was conducted and thoroughly the process was improved. The streamlined washing condition is 2% concentration at 55oC for 40 minutes.Item Implementation of lean manufacturing tools in garment industry as a strategy for productivity improvement(UMT Lahore, 2018) Raheela Pervaiz, ,; Humaira SattarItem Modification of warp knitted fabric used for car seat covers with functional finishes(UMT Lahore, 2018) Syed Ali Ahmad Shah; M Mashhad RazaWarp knitting is the new emerging technology for the development of fabrics. The material develop through this technology can be used for many applications. In this study we will use warp knitting technology for car seat covers. The needles produce parallel rows of loops simultaneously that are interlocked in a zigzag pattern. Fabric is produced in sheet or flat form using one or more sets of warp yarn. The yarns are fed from warp beams to a row of needles extending across the width of the machine. Warp knit fabrics are produced usually using mono-filament yarns. Hereby we will be using the Warp knit fabric with functional finishes against water and dust capacity through calendaring process. The fabric will be evaluated for all the characteristics demanded in car seat covers technologyItem Funk asia Inspiration:(UMT Lahore, 2018) SANA SHAKEELItem Shade variation in pre-existing washes and newly innovated eco-wash(UMT Lahore, 2018) Aneeqa Ahsan; Syeda Zara Gul; Zainab KhalidIn Today’s World, denim is the most worn out fabric.
