    Design and simulation of a hybrid power system of renewable energy resources (Solar, Wind, Bio-Gas) with national grid

    The production of electricity is one of the basic necessities of any country. Even though Pakistan has many production units, we still lack in meeting the yearly demand. Hybrid power system is a system that infuses our natural resources with renewable energy to decrease the initial and final cost of production. My project is the design and simulation of the national grid with three major renewable energy resources. It helps lower the cost of production by 2/3rd of the original cost. It also helps save the environment from CO2emissions causing a reduction in the chances of global warmingpermitting us a clean and green environment. My project is the integration of Solar, Wind and Biogas with the national grid system. I have solar as my primary source, followed by wind as my secondary and prioritizing battery as my last. When all else fails, I will use biogas for the battery to recharge it and supply enough power for the whole integrated system. The aim of my thesis is to design and simulate the Hybrid Power System in such a way that the efficiency or performance of the system increases.

    Home automation using raspberry pi

    Home automation is a method to control any household appliances through a remote control or through complete automation. The world’s first home automation was commenced after 1898 with the invention of labor saving machines like washing machines due to Nikola Tesla’s contributions since, by then, he had patented a remote control device that could be used to control vessels and/or vehicles. Some home automation applications can be considered as stand-alone since they do not communicate, e.g. garage door sensors, while others are networked to be a part of Internet of Things and are used in transferring of data. But even still, majority of these home automation systems that are available for our ease consist of a group of products designed to work together, while others may only work in stand-alone. Home automation provides us with the access to control devices in our house through any hand held device. Thermostats and/or sprinkler systems can even be considered as a part of home automation devices since they can be programmed to work with minimum host intervention but, to be more precise, home automation actually describes a house in which nearly everything, ranging from lights to electric sockets, is hooked up and can be controlled through a remote network. From a security point of view, this would also include an alarm system, windows monitoring or any device or system that can be hooked up to a sensor that would be able to relay information. The greatest advantage for a home automation system is its unmatched energy savings feature. At the most basic level, home automation allows for scheduled programming of sensors so that we can use just enough energy that may be needed and not more. When need be, electrical outlets can also be automatically powered own to save power during daytime.

    Solar heated thermo electric generator

    There are two main sources for the generation of electricity. It includes fossil fuels and renewable energy resources. Fossil fuels are commonly used for 67 % generation of electricity according to Energy Information administration report 2012. Fossil fuels have limits, they are not good for the environment, and will deplete one day. We have to look for some other ways to generate electricity. Renewable energy resources are widely available. Thermoelectric generators are electrical devices which convert the heat difference straight into electricity. TEG is kept hotter from one side and other side is on low temperature. The result is electrical output. This project aims to study this material in details to generate electricity from this latest technology. This project is cheaper and efficiently as compared to other renewable forms of energy.

    Technology is key to success in today era. In field of Aviation number of aircrafts is being used to perform different jobs and tasks according to requirements. All of the aircrafts which are operational today requires ramp runway to takeoff and landing. Vertically takeoff and landing aircraft (VTOL) is a new innovation in field of aeronautics which is able to take off and land vertically without taxi and no runway is required for its takeoff and landing. In this project we have designed a prototype of VTOL aircraft. In addition if we change the material such as alloys, GRP (Glass Reinforce Plastic) and waterproof motors it will be able to go underwater and act as a submarine by folding the wings at specific angel.

    Simulation of network scenario for the comparison of digital connectivity

    This study is grounded upon the analysis of a project, “Modelling and simulation” as the part of the final year requirement. The project is analysed in terms of networking and digital service carrier as the basic background of this study. Second chapter is entailing literature analysis for networking and typologies for pioneer studies in this regard. The objective of this research is putting in place flow control mechanisms with the process framework of OPNET simulation. Research methodology of simulation application is adopted for this research. Eight editors are recorded in this study for simulation analysis, Project Editor, Node Editor, Process Editor, Link Editor, Packet Format Editor, ICI Editor, Packet Editor and Probe Editor. In the simulation analysis, two applications were arranged which utilized TCP and UDP as their vehicle convention. With These applications creating activity, the aim was to quantify the treatment of this movement Sorts. The project results shown that this project is effective for the implications in OPNET software in future. The implications for this study are for administrative and managerial aspects. The system is provided as an executed task in this case through ensuring the precious behavior of Ethernet cabling. It is crucial for effectively measuring the management of the administration between the different servers as compared to administration by one server that deploy CPU usage to provide a better utilization of administration process. It is also resulted that synergy between administration of common use and lower frequency is also remote possibility in nature.

    Solar auto irrigation system (SAIS)

    Agriculture is an important source in a country like Pakistan and many Pakistani’s earn through farming. The weather in Pakistan keeps on change and people some time face lack of rain which result in wastage of crops. Also there are some lands in which the water is available in excess. So to come across this problem we have designed a system which control the excess water in the crops and stops the pumps when the water is not required in the crop. Basically this system is built and undergoes to a process and Works on commands given by the Arduino connected. In this system we are using the power from solar panels as there is shortage of electricity and Pakistan is in Energy crisis as well. Using this system helps to use Alternate source of energy and fulfill shortage of electricity. The sensors are connected in the crops field and keeps on checking the moisture of the field as soon as the crop requires the water the sensors will send the command to Arduino which starts the functioning of the pumps and as soon as the crops are irrigated with the water the Pump will be shut down and the excess to water will be finished. Furthermore description of the system is explained in the report below. Moreover a GSM module is also used which will inform the farmer about the on/off of the pump and flow of water through an SMS.

    Transverse electric modes of asymmetric dielectric slab waveguide

    This report discusses the TE types of unequal slab waveguide. The Eigen value equation and dispersion relation TE types of unequal slab waveguide are derived. The relations of asymmetry, effective thickness and fraction of power propagating in core layer are also derived. The number of showed types and their authentic tables and other parameters of waveguide are numerically computed using Mode Solver method. The guided and radiated modes profiles are simulated using same method. The propagation of guided modes along the core layer of waveguide is simulated and analyzed using Beam Propagation Method.

    The pivot of the project is to provide web based highly interactive and online sessions to those students who have been facing difficulties in their curriculum. This project helps the students to find the conceptual solution of their queries for math. Moreover, students can improve and polish their math skills, through communication with the trainer. There will be an individual trainer for individual student, for the sake of the theoretical learning. The student will show more concentration on each step of the solution. The communication between the student and the Instructor will be according to the specific topic. Student will post the question by taking the snapshot of the question and post on this system. At that time there will be a possible Instructor available who will respond for that post. It is mandatory to write here that student cannot interact easily online with the Instructor because there is not any online platform for the students where the quires can be resolved on the spot. They have to wait mail replies of concerning Instructor. Thus, the have to wait to get conceptual solutions for their enquiries. The main intention of this project is to provide online platform to the students where they can easily find the solutions of their questions at the spot. Through this platform students can enhance their learning and improve their skills by the interaction with the Instructor. In that session the Instructor will teach the student intensely. This project provides the teacher and student portal from where student and teacher can enter in the website. Student can sign-up after that he/she will enter and buy courses which one he wants to study. Teacher can sign-up after that he can launch courses and make offer to the registered student. Admin will define the role of user and tell what they allowed to do.

    MPLS is proposed to replace the frame relay technology. MPLS use for forwarding the traffic on the basic of Labels so that effectively increase the efficiency of device and easy to manageable. MPLS give support of load balancing (if two ISP are connected one is active and other is standby but in MPLS we can use both link for traffic). MPLS use for geographical area (connectivity of different sites of same company located at different even countries).MPLS support Quality of service (voice, video etc). Virtual private network can be make in MPLS.MPLS belongs to layer 2.5 layer mid between network (Routing) and data link (Switching) layer. MPLS work for speedy network of labeling increase reliability and easy to manage. MPLS can work for same subnets of sites means every sites contain the same IP address MPLS run between them by creating VPN tunnels through which they can communicate with each other like they are directly connected. Traffic engineering application of MPLS is used for manage the traffic through which you done for specific route passes through specific link of having mention bandwidth if bandwidth increase then not allow the specific route to carry on that specific link. MPLS can be use for ATM on bridge purpose like in banking sector ATM link if ATM one link goes down MPLS have standby link immediately up that standby link. So MPLS have a lot of benefit over other technology in recent years.

    Differential drive robot using global poistioning system

    The differential drive robot is a basic type of mobile robots. It has two motors on each side of the robot body. These motors can move independently so we can control the movement of the robot by varying the speed of the motors. The way differential drive robot works, there is right wheel and left wheel with velocity that can be controlled. So, for instance, if they're turning at the same rate, the robot is moving straight ahead. If one wheel is turning slower than another, then the robot is going to be turning towards the direction in which the slower wheel is. So, this a way of actually being able to make the robot move round. Our project is based on differential drive movement. The project name is Differential Drive Robot Using Global Positioning System. In this project arduino is used to control the movement of the robot. Arduino is a small credit card size computer that has external General Purpose Inputs/Outputs (GPIO) which can be used in different electronics projects. These General Purpose Inputs/Outputs can be programmed according to the project requirements. The main task of the robot is to reach its destination avoiding obstacles by getting longitude and latitude from cell phone. The destination is given to the robot with the help of cell phone. The arduino is like a brain of the robot. Ultrasonic sensors are used to avoid obstacles and a compass is also used to turn the robot at a specific angle. Raspberry pi controlled through Wi-Fi from the laptop for making videos.
