    Natural disasters have started increasing both in terms of frequency and magnitude. Most of the Asian countries, including Pakistan, are very much prone to natural disasters especially to the floods and earthquakes resulting in extremely vulnerable aftermaths. The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy of existing disaster management approaches in context of a developing country and to propose a systematic Humanitarian Supply Chain Management (HSCM) Framework in order to overcome the challenges faced regarding relief operations management.

    Framework of Performance Measurement System for Material Supply Chain Case of Pakistan Railways

    The study defined the basic performance measurement system framework for Pakistan Railways Material Supply Chain. An important aspect of the study is; the focus is kept on Public Sector Supply Chain. Public Sectors are thought to be non-profit organizations. But in the today’s competitive world the whole dynamics of various organizations have changed including Public Sector Organizations. There is a constant pressure on organizations whether public or private to evolve and improve on regular basis. The issues like accountability, transparency and profitability are constantly being raised regarding Public Sector Organizations. This requires continuous improvement which in turn is not possible without the provision of an efficient and effective performance measurement system. The study is of qualitative nature and triangulation was used to verify the results. Industry related expert interviews were conducted and matched with department’s source documents, participant’s observation and with the literature review as well. The research has addressed the basic questions of why Performance Measurement System is required in Pakistan Railways or the drivers of Performance Measurement in Pakistan Railways. Secondly, it addresses the issue of identification of the problems that may be encountered in the Performance Measurement of Pakistan Railways. And lastly a framework is developed for the performance measurement of Pakistan Railways. This framework is divided into strategic, tactical and operational divisions. The Railways Material Supply Chain is divided into three sub-categories namely In-Bound Material Supply Chain, Internal Material Supply Chain and Reverse Material Supply Chain (Reverse Logistics). It is noteworthy that no major study has been performed in the Public Sector that includes the role of reverse logistics.

For the progress of any country’s economy it is very important to have such types of industries in the country to process its resourcesinto the finished product. Pakistan is agricultural economy and cotton is one of its major crops and there are over 6000 textile industries currently working in Pakistan.This research highlights some of the critical risks which can affect any company in Pakistan. By ignoring these risks duringthe currentperiod of time,a company can incur huge losses which cannot be recovered even after decades, since the global competition is at its peak and every country is striving to get more global market share. It is important to have the knowledgeaboutthese risk when developing business strategy.

Supply chain transform natural resources, raw material and components into finished product that is delivered to the end customer. The project report title “Analysis of Supply chain practices and tools used by DHL to manage its Operations” deals with this matter and is based on the supply chain management of DHL Global.

    Relationship of HEXACO personality model with innovative work behavior

    Today, companies are demanding to be competitive through innovative work behavior. There are several factors affecting the individual innovation, personality of employees is one of important factor and has significant inference for individual innovative work behavior at work. Past studies have exposed the empirical relationship of innovative work behavior with big five model but there is deficiency in literature with respect to six factor HEXACO personality model. This research aspires to investigate moderating role of age in relationship between HEXACO personality traits and innovative work behavior. Hypothesis were drawn from related literature and tested with help of data collected from employees working in IT sector of Lahore Pakistan. The results revealed that honesty-humility has positive relation with innovative work behavior, agreeableness, extroversion and conscientiousness has no relation with innovative work behavior, and age does not moderate with honest-humility, emotionality and openness to experience. Results after this study provide the evidence regarding the link between personality traits, age and innovative work behavior. This research will help the employees and organization to increase innovation by studying the personalities of employees. Empirically this study proved that age of employees in IT sector is not considerable for innovative behavior.

    Effect of Open Innovation on Business Performance

    The area of business performance is always been at the heart of strategic management. Innovation practices have been widely considered as fundamental ingredient for achieving desirable business performance. The major purpose of this research study is to evaluate the moderating impact of external environmental factors in between the relationship of open innovation and business performance of SMEs in Pakistan. The contingency theory is used to explain the framework of this study. The results of this study revealed that customers and suppliers moderate the relationship of inbound open innovation practices and business performance. Furthermore adopting open innovation practices have a positive direct impact on business performance of SMEs. Limitations, insight for managerial implications and future research directions are also discussed.

    The Impact of Supply chain Risk Management performance on Supply Chain Performance

    Supply chain risk management has become a centre of attention for every business organization. Whether it is a SME or a large sector organization, evaluating the risk factor in complete supply chain activities are mandatory in order to gain competitive advantage. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the supply chain risk management performance & supply chain performance. The research questionnaire was extracted from different research studies & sent to 400 respondents who are academicians as well as industry professionals & associated with supply chain for this empirical study. We found a positive relations & impact between process, performance & SCM performance. The research results support the model. It is also suggested that such studies in under developing countries like Pakistan provide support to industry & managers to focus the supply chain risk with very organized processes.

    Impact of Customer Relationship, Quality of Information Sharing and Level of Information Sharing on Operational Efficiency of Freight Forwarding Industry of Pakistan

    ABSTRACT SCM is considered as a perquisite for success of any company, now all MNCs and progress companies are highly dependent on SCM. SCM helps organization in identifying gap and lead to ways to fulfill those gaps. In current era when business has not border lines and flourishing globally, it has become very important for companies to meet customers’ demand at low cost through giving them high quality of services in delivering products at their door step. This has become a big challenge for freight forwarder to meet these requirements. To achieve this level of service, freight forwarding companies has to increase efficiency of its operations. Just by increasing operational efficiency of internal functional is not enough to survive in market. Freight forwarders have to look its operations in the context of SCM. Since Freight Forwarders are acting as an intermediary between shippers (suppliers) and consignee (customers), so its operations are highly effected by its partners. This effected operational efficiency of freight forwarding companies will lead to success or failure of its partners which are suppliers and customers. So there is highly need to see operational efficiency of Freight Forwarding organization in context of SCM. For this study, after having discussion with practitioners and from literature, three SCM practices have been selected which are Customer Relationship (CR), Level of Information Sharing (LIS) and Quality of Information Sharing (QIS). The aim of this study is to see impact of selected SCM practices on OE of Freight Forwarding Industry. The target of this study is PIFFA registered companies and sample size is 115. The data was collected through questionnaire and SPSS was being used to conduct results.

    Impact of Supply Chain Management Practices on Organizational Performance of Supply Chain Partners

    With increase in globalization, competition in the local markets has also increased significantly, therefore, companies cannot remain competitive through production of quality products or services only rather they need to implement such policies and supply chain practices that could distinguish them from the other peers or give them competitive advantage in the market. The main purpose of this study is to identify the impact of supply chain practices over the performance of the supply chain partners including retailers, distributors and manufacturers in the pharmaceutical industry of Pakistan. The study has been conducted to evaluate the impact of supply chain practices like supplier’s relationship, customer relationship, quality of information sharing and information sharing over the supply chain partners. The quantitative information for the execution of this study has been collected through establishment of self-administered questionnaires, which was used through both the interactive and non-interactive channels for collection of required information. A Sample of 150 major manufacturing organizations along with all the major retailers having more than three branches in Pakistan and major distributors was selected among which 121 responses were obtained. Before proceeding towards the detailed research, pilot study was conducted. Data was analyzed through cross-sectional research approach and quantitative methodology was followed for utilization of both the primary and secondary data.
