Item Impact of labor issues on clothing productivity(UMT Lahore, 2008) Imran Naseem; Asif Elahi MangatItem Study of warping and sizing with focus to improve productivity(UMT Lahore, 2008) Rana Wajid Ali; Abdullah GorayaWarping and sizing are preparatory processes for weaving. Warping has significant importance in the production of fabric. Without warping, fabric can not make because it provides base for weft insertion. Sizing is used to increase the strength of yarn. Sizing also known as “heart” of weaving and well sized is half woven. Good warping and sizing can increases the production of weaving unit. Beside these productions can effectively increase by taking some steps such as in yarn quality, by removing warping and sizing faults, by using pre-wet for coarse count, by schedule maintenance and by controlling wastages.Item Role of buying houses in clothing marketing(UMT Lahore, 2008) Sikander Fraz; Shahzad IlyasIn this project we have carried a study on the role of buying houses in textile marketing and also carefully studied the relationship of buying houses, buyers and suppliers. For this purpose we have visited various buying offices and suppliers. And carried our study based on visits to buying offices, supplier visits and consulted the library and internet for the literature review. Based upon our study we found various problems among the relationship of buying offices, suppliers and buyers. The main issues were quality and delivery dates. These problems were due to mis communication between the buying offices. Other causes include dishonesty of buying houses, delay in information by the buying offices and wrong commitments by the suppliers. Based upon our study we prepared a questionaire and to further conclude our study in capstone project two. We will conduct a market survey according to the questionaire. By performing data analysis of the filled in questionaire we will conclude results and give suggestions which will be helpful to improve the role of buying houses in clothing marketing.Item Effect of water quality on reactive dyeing of cellulose textiles(UMT Lahore, 2008) Rafaqat AliThe quality of water is very important in the dyeing of textile materials. Dyeing industry uses a huge quantity of water. The quality of ground water is different at different locations. The major objective of this project is to check the quality parameters (PH, TDS, alkalinity and hardness etc) of ground water collected from different industrial areas and their effect on the quality of dyeing regarding to quality of dyed specimen surface (evenness and whiteness), hue, and chroma, lightness and total difference. The effect of quality of water is also studied for washing fastness and crocking of dyed specimen. The water is tested at PCSIR labs. The Faisalabad water has lot of contaminations but the water samples from Multan Road, Kotlkhpat and Raiwind Manga Road has contaminations with in accepted limits. The Knitted fabric samples are dyed with Red, Yellow and Navy colors in different water samples. Fabric samples dyed with different dyes in different depth are compared with relevant samples dyed in Multan road water, selecting as standard. The comparison is done both visually and with spectrophotometer. The washing fastness and crocking of the dyed samples is also measured. All the information are arranged in tables and studied for final evaluation. It is evaluated that water quality has definable effect on the surface properties, Hue, chroma, lightness and total difference of the dyed specimens. It is also evaluated that water quality has no effect on the washing fastness and crocking. The area has bright chances for future research. The effect of water on dyeing can be studied further by varying the parameters of quality of water artificially by the addition of chemicals and by the results prediction of most suitable water, quality parameters for dyeing.Item An evaluation of denim fabric for comfort properties and effects of weaving(UMT Lahore, 2008) Asif Munir; Sohaib IrshadItem “Effects of stitching faults on productivity & Their remedies in denim (bottom wear)”(UMT Lahore, 2008) Ghazanfar Bukhari; Muhammad AzamItem Comparison of cleaning efficiency of modern and old blow room and card machines(UMT Lahore, 2008) Ghulam Jilani; Soban Fazal KhanItem Weaving faults and their control(UMT Lahore, 2008) Usman-Ul-Haq; Iftikhar AhmadItem Denim fabric faults and their remedies(UMT, Lhr, 2008) Aun Abbass Shah; Rana JahanzebDenim fabric faults and thei In this project we have carried a study of whole denim weaving process in detail. We studied ail the steps carried out in spinning, warping, indigo dyeing, re beaming, sizing, weaving and finishing but our main focus on denim fabric fault and their remedies. For denim there is special open end and ring yam sizing is perhaps not different with other fabrics but warping of denim is different in nature as first there is need of ball warping than after rope indigo dye its re beaming is done again and than it is prepared for looming such as drawing in as required twill weave design. Denim weaving is preferred on air jet looms as compared to other weaving technologies. Special effects on denim fabric can be produced both before and after shaping it to garment. There is different kind of washes for producing special effects like stone wash, enzyme wash, resin finishes are applied to get effects, tie and dye method. remedies
