The nexus of economics and energy efficient building envelop
(UMT Lahore, 2023) Ar. Hammad Hassan
Climate change has been a global catastrophic event and being an agriculture dependent country Pakistan's vulnerability to this change is quite high due to geographical location. In the past decade, numerous irregularities like extreme weather spells, floods, glacier lake outbursts, and heat waves have been observed. Global Climate Index has ranked Pakistan as the fifth vulnerable country towards climatic change (Business Recorder, 2021). Rather than referring to as one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change, it would be more accurate to be referred to as least prepared. Sustainable ideas and concepts that have been practiced throughout the 20th century require a new resilient approach towards energy conservation and efficient energy houses for the adaption of ongoing/new environmental changes. Billions of rupees have been spent on building new houses each year. It is a very little known fact that implications of passive house techniques such as insulation may reduce the energy consumption hence reducing the overall running cost. With little understanding, upfront costs associated with energy-efficient building envelops have a huge negative economic impression on residential units and residents may end up having huge operations and maintenance costs for a lifetime by opting for standard brick envelopes. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to assess the lifecycle cost and payback time for energy-efficient building envelopes.

    A grand complex for horses
    (UMT Lahore, 2023) ALI HAMZA
A horse gallops with its lungs, perseveres with its heart, and wins with its characters. Horse lends us the wings we lack. A horse is a great friend. Some people say that a dog looks up to a man, a cat looks down on a man, but a patient horse looks a man in the eye and sees him as an equal. Horses share a rich history in our culture and religion. Even a unicorn was a horse on which rode our beloved PROPHET (P.B.U.H) Quaid-e-Azam had a great passion for horses. He used to ride for hours on end in his youth The complex has been made objectively to not bridge the gap, but to create a bridge, this helps us to learn about our roots and our identity. Learning how to ride horses and learning about our culture and heritage along with it is a wonderful opportunity for us to be able to teach people horse riding, our culture and most importantly our identity. Learning all this out in the air, it moves effortlessly. A man can only be aspired to be able to move like a horse and he comes close in doing so when he is only mounted on it and feels what only a horse can make him feel, freedom and self-belief The thesis is aimed to promote equestrian games in Pakistan. Give proper space to riders and horses, space for international riders, take Pakistan to international equestrian games like polo, tent-pegging, flat racing, horse jumping.
