Comparison of conventional cotton spinning with compact spinning
(UMT.Lahore, 2008) Husnain Raza; Asif yaseen
A new impulse in the field of ring spinning technology is offered by compact-condensed spinmng. Our project presents an analysis and comparison of the parameters of cotton yam spun on the compact spinning frame and conventional ring spinning frame. We will analyses and compare the physical, mechanical and morphological properties of conventional and compact yams, spun at the same technological and kinematical parameters from the same cotton. According to literature, the compact yams possess less hairiness, better strength, better uniformity and lower values of thick & thin places and neps compared to the conventional ring-spun yams. In our project, we will analyze and verify above mention properties.

Fading effect on indigo dyed denim vsing enzyme
(UMT.Lahore, 2008) Adeel ahmad khan; muhammad mudassar ali tariq
Denim, being the most common wear in the world, puts a huge room for improvement in the aesthetics field. The current time is an era for quality and competitiveness which sets a question mark of how to cater for the changing trends of the world. Innovations are the major attributes to attract the stronger customer base and thus place a company in a dominant position within the industry. This was the primary reason for creating the fading effect on denim. The enzyme system used was Denilite 11 ™, and Voluomax by Novozymes which is a class of Laccase and cellulase en^es. The enzyme was applied onto the rndigo dyed denim in the form of granule with the help of anti back Stainer and wetting agent. Various results were obtained using different process variable. Two types of leg panels, one of indigo and the second of bottoming were selected. Serious of experiments using experiment using varying parameters were performed and the resulting level of fading in specimen was assessed.

The effect of sizing recipe on production and quality of fabric
    (UMT.Lahore, 2008) Sohaib Hassan Khalid
Sizing is the process in which different adhesives are applied on the yarn sheet to increase its strength and decrease hairiness. Air Jet looms are very fast fabric manufacturing machines, have ability to produce good quality fabric. Today most of the weaving industries have installed Air Jet looms and in future these will be the most preferable machines for fabric manufacturing. Air Jet looms due to high speed, demands proper sized yarn with sufficient strength to give high production efficiency as compared to slow fabric manufacturing looms. So, to fulfill this requirement of fast fabric manufacturing we did work on the sizing recipes of different qualities in different units and collected the data for analysis of their size recipes. We searched the results for optimum sizing recipes for different fabric qualities on Air Jet looms. We made comparisons between different properties of yarn and observe the recipe changing effect on production and quality of fabric in general. These provided us actual behaviors of size recipes on quality of fabric and remain helpful for our goal. We checked the effect of sizing recipes on the fabric quality and behavior of sizing on loom efficiency. We test the sizing objective parameters and their effect in the fabric manufacturing. All the efforts were to check the recipe effects on the fabric quality and production.
