    Image compression

    An enormous amount of data is produced when a 2-D light intensity function is sampled and quantized to create a digital image. In fact the amount of data generated may be so great that it results in impractical storage, processing, and communications requirements. For instance more than 25 gigabytes (25 x 1 (Mbytes) of data are required to represent the Encyclopedia Britannica in digital form. Image compression addresses the problem of reducing the amount of data required to represent a digital image. The underlying basis of the reduction process is the removal of redundant data from a mathematical viewpoint, this amount to transforming a 2-D pixel array into a statistically uncorrelated data set. The transformation is applied prior to storage or transmission of the image. At some later time the compressed image is decompressed to reconstruct the original image or an approximation to it. Over the years, the need for image compression has grown steadily. Currently, it is recognized as an "enabling technology." For example, image compression has been and continues to be cmcial to the growth of multimedia computing (that is, the use of digital computers in printing and publishing and video production and dissemination). In addition, it is the natural technology for handling the increased spatial resolutions of today's imaging sensors and evolving broadcast television standards. Furthermore, image compression plays a crucial role in many important and diverse applications, including televideo-conferencing, remote sensing (the use of satellite imagery for weather and other earth-resource applications), document and medical imaging, facsimile transmission (FAX), and the control of remotely piloted vehicles in military, space, and hazardous waste control applications. In short, an ever-expanding number of applications depend on the efficient manipulation, storage, and transmission of binary, gray-scale, or color images. We will first examine both the theoretic and practical aspects of the image compression process. There are different standards and groups working in image processing field for example JPEG.Basic steps performed on an image during image compression are: 1. Transform image to luminance/chrominance color space(YCbCr). 2. Reduce the color components (optional). 3. Partition image into 8*8 pixel blocks and perform the DCT on each block. 4. Quantize resulting DCT coefficients. 5. Entropy codes the reduced coefficients.

    E-Book is made to facilitate its users/publishers in creating the book, with the help of automated wizard. First of all, whenever a user starts to use this software there is two options for him/her open the existing book or create a new book. If user select the option of open the existing book then a open window appears and user can open the desire book. If user select the option of creating new book then there is again two options comes before him. Create the book by wizard or open blank book. If user selected the option of wizard then an automated wizard helps the user to create and design the book other wise the user do it manually. This software auto generates the Table of contents. Index and Glossary of the newly created book.

    Automated Thumb Identification (ATI) is a project that provides a computerizedsystem for marking attendance. The organization, which we choose for theapplication of our software, is our own IMT IPC Lab. With the use of this softwarestudent will only have to put their thumb on the scanner. Neither there will be anyneed of showing identity cards for the authentication nor doing entries in the registers.likewise this software can also be used by any other organization, which isconcerned about their attendance system and security as well.The system has been designed in Unified Modeling Language (UML) notation andimplemented in Microsoft C# (C-Sharp) and SQL-Server.

    Text to voice messenger with a 3-d character

    The system will be a group chat junction. It will work as the typical group chatSoftwares like mIRC, Such Gup and many other Softwares available in the market.But when the user will select a particular person to have a chat with him/her, he/shewill enter in the new and attractive environment in which he/she can have text to sendand in the result the received message to listen. It would probably a very amazingexperience for the chat fans.The TTV messenger will be a program that will take a stream of text firom the senderand communicate it to the other online user. The received message can also beviewed in the text form as well. The data will travel in the form of text through thecommunication channels and on the receiver's end it will be changed in the form ofvoice. This conversion system will be at the receiver's end. So this will have no effectthe speed of the communication process. So the same communication system willtake place when the second user will send a message to the first one.The other main thing to be noticed is a 3-D character having 2-3 skins that will give alook like speaking the received text at the receiver's end. It will have 5-10 differentkinds of voice.At the administrator s end, there will be a control window named Control Room. Inthis window, the administrator will monitor the overall activities going on in the chatroom. Here the administrator have some authority either to kick the user out of theroom completely remove his account from the server. Any how the basic duty of theadministrator is to monitor the chat going on through the main room. Another thingthat is notable is that the administrator has no rights to monitor the activities going onin the individual chat room.A main thing that is to be noticed is that the user will receive the voice from only onesender. He/she will have an option in the individual chat room window. If he/she willcheck that option, the voice of that particular window will be generated.

    The Border Gateway Protocol (SGP") is an interautonomous system routing protocol.BGP IS used to exchange routing information for the Internet and is fhe protocol usedbetween Internet service providers (ISPV Customer networks, such as universities andcorporations, usually employ an Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) such as RIP or OSPFfor the exchange of routing information within their networks. Customers connect toISPs, and ISPs use BGP to exchange customer and ISP routes. When BGP is usedbetween autonomous systems (AS), the protocol is referred to as External BGP (EBGP).If a service provider is using BGP to exchange routes vsdthin an AS, then the protocol isreferred to as Interior BGP (IBGP).A current trend of network security issues is for attackers to target routers to disruptnternet traffic. Due to the lack of a scalable means of verifying the authenticity andlegitimacy of the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) control traffic, BGP is highlyvulnerable to a variety of malicious attacks both in theory and in practice. Whiletremendous effort has been devoted to network security, and a number of effective attackcountermeasures have been developed and implemented, little attention has been paid tothe inter-domain routing protocol attacks and network devices' security features. Ourproject identifies the BGP security issues, the BGP protocol vulnerabilities andweaknesses, and the possibilities that BGP traffic may be affected.
