The old constellations’ names were derived from Greek mythology but the constellations created later on were mostly named after scientific instruments and animals. However, these constellations don’t come with a particular set of rules as the idea behind one constellation is entirely different from the other. Some constellations are linked with astronomy more prominently. Inspiration:- The inspiration of my thesis is the idea that any kind of constellations can be created just with the mere connection of stars. Provided that, infinite patterns or shapes can be made just by the use of this simple but unique process of making constellations with the connection of stars, without connecting it to Greek myths and astrological figures. Objectives of Project:- The main objective is to create the star pathways inspired by constellations. The aim is to use my experience developed throughout my degree program and use my skills in developing beautiful designs and work with them for the purpose of exploring my creativity to the utmost. Countless textile patterns can be created using this inspiration of making these patterns. Constellations have an extremely strong impact on the viewer as one naturally wants to draw shapes using the stars. Constellations have a very striking and impressive look as they make you feel captivated and cozy at the same time. The thesis will involve:- The development of designs using digital and manual textures and patterns. The basic preparation and color management will be done. The colors most prominently used will be shades of blue, black, sea blue and green, some galaxy colors such as violet and grey, and definite white for the drawing of constellations. The constellation patterns made will be abstract and geometric and will include no curvilinear structure formation. Finally, all the textural backgrounds will be patterns of the night sky. Plan of Work:- My work will include a step by step procedure that will be both concept and research based. After carrying out the research I will develop research boards and mood boards for my theme that will include various inspired constellation patterns. A color pallet will also be developed. Then I will do initial sketching for motif and pattern development. Repeat patterns and other methods will be used for design creation. Further, color application will be done. Both Photoshop and manual design development techniques will also be used; which includes the use of mix media techniques for manual purpose. All work will be displayed from portfolios to end product in a display session. Expected Outcomes:- All in all, the eventual product line creation will visually highlight the inspiration gathered from already listed constellations but constitute of new constellations keeping in view the basic idea of the night sky star connections. I will communicate my idea through my product range as self-expression for fulfillment of my thesis aims and objectives. The scope of my work will help protrude my idea of constellation designs. Expectantly, prints will be developed for home textile furnishing. A wide range of prints will be produced for home textile products, like sofa and cushion prints. As a result, constellation influenced designs will emerge as intricate but cozy and inviting for contemporary home textile products.Item Harajuku with boho-chic (street style)(UMT.Lahore, 2018) Farnaz FatimaThe main inspiration is Harajuku that united with Boho-chic appearance. The warm and thick cloth will provide a very attractive aspect of designing clothes that reflect their culture. o The pattern is unique as they make use of stripped, checkered and plaid patterns, of which the most abundantly present is stripped. The patterns are all in geometrical shapes which provide a very specific direction for designing and of course it will make use of certain techniques like block printing and digital printing as well in order to modernize the outcome. Apart from that one of the main features of their outfit is the use of beads. The beads are also used in a certain pattern that can be implemented into the clothing to reflect that side of their clothing. The final prepared product will be a clear representation of the Maasai tribe’s clothing style which will be used in such a way as to set their clothing according to the modern era of fashion without losing the originality of their culture. The formation of modest fashion has been growing rapidly. New modest fashion styles have been contributed to develop modern modest fashion. Modest fashion is linked with the Romanian culture's embroidery and their colors. The traditional clothing of Romanian has a great artistic value because of its spectacular cut and decorations. Although it has yellow, purple and green color but blue and orange is the extent color of fish, which make her more attractive. It has highly reclusive nature but sometimes seen perched. They swim very fast with their fins. It has unusual shape with a broad head but it is very small about six to seven cm. A concept behind this project is to depict the essence of the sea creature. It has very bright and vibrant colors, which made her more, and more attractive. It has very beautiful textures with orange wavy lines, which make her different from other fishes. The pattern is extremely different it seems like someone draw very beautiful random wavy lines on her body, which attracts the human eyes. It is the only fish, which has no scale on her body it, has its own colorful textures. The blue hued color in her body tends to elaborate optical illusion to brighten the body. It has many layers of colorless crystals in her skin, which reflect blue color back at the looker, which make her more attractive because of his blue reflection. Mandarin is not relay on optical illusion. In fact, there are only two species in the world that produces its own coloring called cyanophores. My focus on see-through fabrics and on embellishments because I made couture dresses so the key silhouettes reference are haute couture 2018 and experimental cut lines with the layers of pure fabrics attached showing the colorful relation with pattern and design on its body. I try to make layers of different fabric to show the reflection of colors, which make my dresses more attractive. .Texture and colors of the fish is huge source of inspiration. Therefore, the focus is on blue and orange. Blue is the base color of my dresses and I used darker tone of blue, orange and yellow embroidery on it to make it brighter and beautiful like mandarin. The textile surfaces are a mixture of colors and design, design is taken out from the fish textures, used different techniques of printing, and made different colorful digital prints. Digitally printed and embroidered fabric surfaces not only enhance the subject matter but also give the garment a new dimension of style.Item Rajasthan art(UMT.Lahore, 2018) Zartash Naeem Butt
