Through this study, researcher tried to evaluate the leadership styles of institutional head. Based on the review of the related literature, a questionnaire both for teachers and principal was prepared. After the try out of the questionnaire, a final questionnaire was developed and administered to eleven teachers of Hazrat Ayesha Siddequa Model Degree College (Higher Secondary Section) and an in-depth interview of the principal was also taken. In addition to questionnaire and interviews, field notes were also prepared. The study was limited to the principal and 11 teachers of higher secondary section. The collected data were presented In chapter IV. The data in general, revealed that the principal was more task oriented than person oriented. For accomplishment of the goals she didn't like interference in the decisions-making process. She was ,infact, concemed only with the completing of the job. Teachers were therefore' just implementers of the orders and policies. In general, the administrative environment was not collaborative, interactive and knowledge sharing. A general look of the institution showed that there was inadequate arrangement of hygienic food, filtered water, and sufficient opportunities for co-curricular activities. Informal talk with students and general field notes showed that teachers were traditional practitioners who were not interested in development of meaningful teaching-learning process. The research observed an interesting phenomenon that was not only the principal but also the majority of staff didn't like participative and knowledge sharing environment. In short, the institution was a traditional one having teachers and principal believing in transmission mode.Item Exploratory and diagnostic study on hand-knotted carpets of D.S.
