Item Effects of societal attitude on personality development of persons with hearing impairment(UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY, 2015) Qazi, Romaisa; Ahmad, ZarmeenSocietal attitudes has a major influence on the development of persons with hearing impairment. There has been a growing evidence indicated a strong influence of perceived societal attitude, particularly in respect to their personality characteristics. The present study attempted to examine big five personality characteristics of persons with hearing impairment in relation to their perceived societal attitude towards them. The aim of the present study was to highlight the personality traits of persons with hearing impairment and how these traits affected by perceived societal attitude. The sample of the study were 200 persons with hearing impairment from 5 different schools of persons with hearing impairment in Lahore. Correlation Analysis showed significant positive correlation of neuroticism, extraversion and negative societal attitude.results also revealed that who have hearing impairment by birth have traits of extraversion and openness. Females have more extraverted and conscientiousness as compared to males.
