Eliminating the unnecessary operation in the production line to change the die design of under shock cover of CD-70
(University of Management and Technology, 2014) Naseer Ahmed; Zia Ur Rehman
Deep drawing process is a sheet metal forming process where a punch is utilized to force a flat sheet metal (blank) to flow into the gap between the punch and die surfaces. As a result, the blank can be formed into the various shapes. A sheet metal may be drawn into simple cylindrical-, conic- and boxed-shaped part and also complicated parts which normally require redrawing processes using progressive dies. Deep drawing is a popular selection due to its rapid press cycle times. Its capability of producing complicated axisymmetric geometries and several non-axisymmetric geometries in few operations with low technical labors requirement is also an advantage in manufacturing applications. Examples of deep drawing applications include containers of all shapes, sinks, beverage cans, automotive body and structural parts and aircraft panels. The important variables which affect the formability and outcomes of deep drawing can be grouped into two categories: Material and friction factors; and tooling and equipment factors. Proper selection of these variables is crucial in deep drawing to maximize the formability of the sheet metal while reducing undesirable outcomes which includes earing and defects such as wrinkling.

Global Trade Network Analysis to Strategies Pakistan Trade Policy
(UMT, Lahore, 2019) Zia Ur Rehman
In global trade market competitiveness is a superlative game. Eloquent comparison, peer countries concert identification, making meaningful insights, identification of competitive challenges, performance gaps and challenges identification is important for policy makers to stay and drive in the main trade stream. Understanding the competitiveness is a vibrant and relative process. What drives competitiveness and how key players evolve over time in a metric and performs in the global trade market is important to identify the resilience of any country’s trading network. For Pakistan, paper scrutinizes in detail that the Pakistan’s trade concert in the light of evolving global challenges and recognizes the key structural issues. Primary objective of this study is to explore the robustness of Pakistan trade network by using the network analysis methodologies and to familiarize the readers with the methods incorporate for calculation, Visualization and exploration of the network and trade statistics. A verity of visualization are presented to descript the topological properties of trade networks, fabricating and conversing frequently used network statistics and imparting some precise topics. Network analysis approaches are used as a compelling toll to delineate Bilateral Trade relation among the countries where interdependences matters and trading is considered with robust heterogeneity and high dimensionality. For the purpose, UN Comtrade Database is explored along with network analysis methodologies for visualizing the world trade networks to define and elaborate the topologies of the networks and discussing both binary and weighted versions. Defining the clusters to identify the countries shares common statistics and to see how the countries are positioned in relation to others along with understanding the relative size of competitiveness gaps is the primary implication of this study.

In this research work, world trade network is explored with a combination of network analysis techniques and also familiarizing the reader to some of the methods used to evaluate, visualize and represent the world trade network data. Different conception of trade network are presented to describe the topological properties along with commonly used statistics. We have observed that network analysis techniques are suitable to describe the trade relations among the countries described by high diversification and the position of each trading country in the network rendering to its comparative centrality.

Measuring the learning organizations construct in Pakistan: a case of public sector educational institutes
(European Journal of Social Sciences, 2011) Rana Zamin Abbas; Hasan Sohaib Murad; Abdul Ghaffar Ghaffari; Ahmed F. Siddiqi; Zulfqar Ahmad; Zia Ur Rehman; Muhammad Ashraf
Purpose: This paper focuses upon assessing the learning levels of Pakistani organizations1 particularly on those aspects which are prominent and verifiable in Pakistani context. Design/Methodology/Approach: The paper in hand first reviews all the relevant literature for distilling the main features of learning organization’s construct which are used in the questionnaire. The research used Marsick & Watkins, (2003) questionnaire as an instrument. Research findings: Factor analysis after survey filters five dimensions of the construct learning organization. namely; learning climate, employees’ participation, systematic employee development, leadership, and incentives of most positive kinds (rewards), for learning which are found in different proportions in public sector organizations.

    Rank resume
(UMT.Lahore, 2024) Zia Ur Rehman; Zain Ul Abdin; Muhammad Kosain Haider; Mersab Ejaz
This project aims to develop a SaaS application, which will serve as a platform for small companies and HR of a company to find a best suitable employee for a company with no time and accuracy. “Rank Resume". The hiring process for a HR of a company is a very hectic task. He has to short list the qualified candidates by going through hundreds or thousands of resumes. The main goal is to develop an application that uses innovative technologies like machine learning, NLP (Natural Language Processing), and Node.js to reduce the workload placed on HR when shortlisting qualified candidates. This will shortlist the most qualified candidates after reviewing hundreds or even thousands of resumes. This will also be beneficial for applicants so they will know where they stand out for job. The success of this project will depend on effective marketing and adoption by users, which will require thorough testing and continuous improvements.
