Speed control of 3 phse induction motor by close loop mehtod
(University of Management and Technology, 2014) Umair Hayyat; Shair Afgun; Muhammad Ijaz Saddiq
Motors are widely used in industry, factories and automobiles so there is always a need to devise a system which can control the motor efficiently so that quality and cost effectiveness can be attained. There are different techniques to control the speed of motor but in this project the closed loop technique using PIC microcontroller is used. To control whole system PIC 18F452 is used which is acting like the brain of the system. PIC 18f452 is programmed in such a way that it can check output speed and order the input variables accordingly so that desired speed can be attained. In the project, speed control of the 3 phase induction motor is covered. 3 phase induction motor is connected to PIC 18F2431 by using FET's bridge and IGBT driver IR2110 .input connected to FET's bridge is passing through the zero crossing circuit and TRAIC circuit to control the motor speed .Another pic microcontroller PIC 18f452 is used to set the speed of motor at desire speed and to show it on LCD. A RPM counter is created which gives feedback to the PIC 18F452 to calculate speed of motor and Programming is implemented on the current speed to make decision what is necessary to achieve desired speed.
