    FORMULATION AND ASSESSMENT OF DIABETIC BIRYANI AS A MODIFIED LOCAL CUISINE FOR TYPE-2 DIABETIC PATIENTS

    Globally, the prevalence of diabetes has increased, considering different lifestyles, changes in physical activity, and dietary patterns. Its rate has also increased in Pakistan. Several factors are contributing to this prevalence, including an increase in obesity and increased consumption of local carb-based foods. Modifying local cuisine and using herbs can be proven effective strategies to minimize the risk of diabetes.

    Materialism

    The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between materialism and psychological wellbeing with the influence of spirituality among the young adults. The sample of total 186 participants were drawn from the young adults through online survey, with the age range of 21 to 35 years (men=70, women=116). Assessment measures were used in this study for measuring Materialism, Spirituality and Psychological Wellbeing are; Materialistic Values Scale (Richins and Dawson, 2004), the Spirituality Questionnaire (Parsian and Dunning, 2009) Psychological Wellbeing Scale (Ryff, 2007). The results of Pearson product moment correlation analysis have shown that the Materialism was negatively significant with the Psychological wellbeing. Psychological wellbeing has shown positive significant relationship with Spirituality. The results of correlation among Materialism and Spirituality have shown negative significant relationship. Whereas, Spirituality was found to be a positive significant moderator for relationship between Materialism and Psychological wellbeing. The study concluded that increase in materialism causes decrease in psychological wellbeing. This study has implications in the areas of literature gap and provided the necessary aspects for the understanding of materialistic behaviors with its relationship with psychological wellbeing.
