Impact assesment of the lahore orange line metro train project on customers, residents and society
(UMT.Lahore, 2022) Muhammad Naeem; Adeel Khakan Dar
Public service delivery is inadequate due to rapid urbanization and migration into Lahore, most notably in the area of public transit. The Lahore Orange Line Metro Train (LOLMT) is Pakistan's first project for light rail mass transit, and it was created to meet the city's expanding population needs. The current study is based on an ex-post evaluation and examines the several benefits of accessibility, passenger willingness to pay, and social inclusion. The analysis also makes a case for better accessibility by pointing out any gaps that might be a barrier for users or deter potential users. The primary objective of this study is to assess how satisfied customers are with their experiences in relation to their expectations. By examining data from surveys, interviews, and secondary sources, this research will assess how the Orange Train Project has affected these stakeholders. Analyzing the project's effects on cost savings, travel time, satisfaction with the transportation system, social and environmental implications, job creation, skill development, revenue production, sustainability, economic development, and social equality will be the main goal of the study. Policymakers, transportation planners, and stakeholders in infrastructure projects can all benefit from the study's findings by using them to inform their decisions. The users of the orange line services are our target demographic. An anonymous survey with a sample size of 114 users of this service is administered for this study, and of those, 150 replies are approved. Also employed is a 5-point Likert scale. The descriptive analysis is used to determine the percentage of replies, mean, and standard deviation as well as to determine the relationship between all the independent factors and the dependent variable. The Customer Satisfaction (CS), Residence (RA), and Society or Community (CO) variables are all shown in the correlation table. Overall, this study 6 focuses on conducting an impact assessment of the orange train project on customers, residents living near the train route, and the broader society. The objectives are to evaluate the effects of the project on customer satisfaction, assess the impact on residential areas, and analyze the broader societal implications. Speed control of DC motor by switch mode power supply (SMPS)
(UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY, 2015) Muhammad Naeem; Aamar Sharif
This thesis gives the whole idea and theme of the “Speed Control of DC Motor by SMPS” to the reader. An efficient and commonly use power converter nowadays is 10 Switch Mode Power Converter (SMPS), Switch Mode Supply (SMPS) and liner power supply are two types of DC power supply available in market. Due to the same power rating, customer prefers SMPS than linear power supply. SMPS is smaller, cheaper and lighter than linear power supply. SMPS also have better efficiency than linear power supply. In this thesis an AC to DC converter SMPS circuit, having a BJT's for switching operation and a PWM based feedback circuit for driving the switching of the BJT's.The ideal switch is when all power is absorbed by the load and there is hundred percent energy efficiency, there is no current when the switch is open and there is no voltage when the switch is closed. For this project, PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) is being used to drive the switches. This project is focusing on developing SMPS using fly-back converter topology. In this design the line voltage at 220V/50Hz is taken as input. An Isolation Transformer is used to isolate the DC output from input supply. The transformer output is rectified by the high frequency Diode bridge rectifier and is filtered using a capacitor to give the regulated DC output. A Voltage regulator is connected to give the precise voltage output. This regulated voltage is driven by PWM feedback signal, to control the output voltage level. The dc voltage at the output depends on the width of the switching pulse. The on and off of the switch is important because the duty cycles of the PWM is used to regulate the DC output voltage. So the desire output voltage can be produced by generate various duty cycle. School

In this thesis an AC to DC converter SMPS circuit, having a BJT's tor switching operation and a PWM based feedback circuit for driving the switching of the BJT's. For this project, PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) is being used to drive the switches. This project is focusing on developing SMPS using fly-back converter topology.
