To study the impact of green practices on pollution reduction, mediating role of environmental sustainability in the aviation industry of pakistan
(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Tasneem Qurban Ali; Fatima Saleem
This research investigates the impact of green practices, specifically green technology and green innovation on pollution reduction within the aviation industry of Pakistan, while examining the mediating role of environmental sustainability. Recognizing the aviation sector’s contributions to carbon emissions and environmental degradation, this study explores how green operational strategies can foster pollution reduction. Using a quantitative research design, data was collected from 80 aviation industry employees through structured questionnaire, employing convenient sampling. The study utilized SPSS 25.0 nad Smart PLS4 for statistical analysis, including KMO Bartlett’s test, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation, hypothesis testing, and mediation analysis. The results provide empirical support for all purposed hypothesis confirming that both green innovation and green technology have a significant positive impact on pollution reduction. Moreover, environmental sustainability was found to play a crucial mediating role between green practices and pollution reduction. The findings contribute to theoretical knowledge by expanding the understanding of environmental sustainability mediating effects in aviation related environmental management studies. Practically, the research offers insights for policy makers, and aviation industry stake holders, recommending the integration of sustainable technologies and innovation driven environmental strategies to enhance pollution control efforts. Furthermore, this study highlights the need for future research on digitalizing and smart technologies such as AI, IoT, and data analytics in green aviation to further optimize environmental performance Keywords: Green Practices, Green Innovation, Green Technology, Environmental Sustainability, Mediation, Pollution Reduction, Aviation Industry, Pakistan, Quantitative Research
