Stylistic analysis of Pakistani political songs through the lens of leech and short theory

The stylistic analysis explores the literary elements that attribute to the meaning of the text. Consequently, the researcher's purpose is to analyze Pakistani political songs through stylistic analysis. The research study discovers the incorporation of linguistic and literary features to convey the hidden meaning behind the study. The research objectives and questions are about looking into the figurative language used in the political song in the Pakistani domain, secondly, the role of lexical features, and lastly, the function of vocabulary in stimulating the emotions of people. The method descriptive involves the theory of Leech and Short to organize the data analysis and to prove the findings. The data analysis is based on four different songs from different political groups and each represents their party or leader. The stylistic analysis disclosed the existence of literary devices like metaphors, hyperbole, personification, repetition, symbol, assonance, compounding, borrowing, and irony to leave a remarkable effect on the public and audience. Moreover, the lexical features are also found like nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, formal, informal, general, specific, simple, and complex vocabulary to prove the impact of it arousing people’s emotions.
