Item Masonry Walls Analysis from Shish Mahal in Lahore-Pakistan.(Journal of Research in Architecture and Planning., 2015) Awan, Muhammad YousalLahore Fort is situated in the north-west corner of the WalledCity of Lahore. Shish Mahal within the Lahore Fort wasbuilt in 1631-1632 by the then Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.The restoration works were done recently for the ceiling ofShish Mahal including the fixing of the roof, glass workand re-plaster. The side rooms and main courtyard were alsorestored. Nothing, however was properly proposed andimplemented for masonry walls of Shish Mahal on whichit is standing. Patches of bricks and plaster have deterioratedfrom walls due to effect of weather conditions.The main part of Lahore Fort was made of burnt bricks withlime mortar which has deterioration over time due to variousreasons. The brick work in Lahore Fort and its specialmonument Shish Mahal are badly distressed.
