    Perceived parental disharmony, social rejection, and rule-breaking behavior in college boys with substance use

    The present study aimed to find out the relationship between Perceived Parental Disharmony, Social Rejection, and rule-breaking behavior in college boys with substance use. A sample of 200 participants of college boys was selected from both the public and private sectors to ensure equal representation and to minimize selection bias. The participants were adolescent boys aged between 15-19 years currently enrolled in a college. Key measures included the Perceived Parental Disharmony in Adolescents (Amjad, S., 2014), Rule Breaking Behavior in Adolescents Boys (Naeem & Mahmood, 2014), and Social Rejection Peer Scale (Huma, K., & Mahmood, Z., 2015). Informed consent and data confidentiality were diligently addressed, ensuring highly ethical considerations were met. The purposive sampling method was used for data collection. Our research aims to fill a critical gap in the existing literature by advancing knowledge in the field of mental health among college students and by conducting rigorous and innovative research, we seek to contribute to the development of evidence-based prevention and intervention programs tailored to the needs of college students. This study supposes that Parental Disharmony is significantly related to higher social rejection and rule breaking in youngsters. Correlation analysis showed strong links between perceived parental disharmony, social rejection, and rule-breaking behavior in adolescent boys.
