Moving for a better Life The Role of Poverty and Unemployment in Migration Decisions

This thesis investigates the relationship between poverty, unemployment, and migration, with a focus on Pakistan. Migration has been a persistent global phenomenon, influenced by various factors including economic opportunities and conflict. This study explores how economic hardships, specifically poverty and unemployment, drive migration patterns in Pakistan. Through a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis, the research reveals that high levels of poverty and unemployment significantly increase migration as individuals seek better prospects abroad. The findings highlight the impact of economic conditions on migration and underscore the need for effective policy interventions to address these issues. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of migration dynamics and offers insights for policymakers and international organizations working to manage migration-related challenges.
