Social Entrepreneurship and Women Empowerment The Case of Punjab, Pakistan

Social entrepreneurship is an emerging phenomenon, which has received worldwide traction from both researchers and policymakers. Social entrepreneurship is considered an effective tool and mechanism of social transformation, poverty alleviation, gender equality, and human empowerment. Social entrepreneurship has gained momentum in developing countries where governments have been specifically using it as a strategy to promote empowerment among marginalized communities such as women. Several social enterprises have been established all around the world to promote social entrepreneurship and lower women’s social and economic exploitation through financial and non-financial support.
