Item Preparation, characterization, and properties of bosentan-loaded zno nanoparticles(UMT, Lahore, 2025) Aamir NadeemDiabetes, a concerning medical disease can lead to many physical effects. Zinc oxide nanoparticles' possible antidiabetic effects and drug release efficiency were evaluated in conjunction with two drugs, bosentan and metformin, respectively. In numerous published researches, Zinc Oxide nanoparticles have shown promise as nanocarriers for medication delivery and in the management of diabetes, especially type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Zinc oxide nanoparticles loaded with bosentan and metformin were created in the current study using a chemical co-precipitation technique, and the drugs were added to them by surface physio-sorption. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and infrared Fourier transform (FTIR) spectroscopy were used to characterize the samples. Fourier transform infrared revealed distinct peaks at the wavenumber ranging from 430 and 445 cm-1 ZnO stretching in the produced composite, whereas ultraviolet visible spectroscopy verified the formation of zinc oxide nanoparticles. (ZnO NPs) Nanoparticles examined by scanning electron microscopy revealed aggregated granular microstructures. Human metabolism's α-amylase enzyme was used in in vitro anti-diabetic tests. At an absolute dosage of 1000 μg per milliliter, the combination exhibited the strongest inhibition of 81.91 % of the α-amylase enzyme, indicating enhanced antidiabetic efficacy. While the Bosentan loaded with zinc nanoparticles showed a faster in vitro drug release rate compared to the pure Bosentan. Additionally, hardness, disintegration, and friability tests were also carried out. Results proved that nanosized drugs have enhanced the antidiabetic activity of metformin activities
