Item Synthesis, structural elucidation and biological evaluations of schiff base derived from 3,5-bistrifluoromethyl aniline(UMT, Lhr, 2016) AFIFA KHALIDA novel Schiff base is prepared by condensing 3,5-bistrifluoromethylaniline with 3-ethoxysalicaldehyde. This Schiff base is further utilized to prepare the metal complexes with Zn and Cd. Characterization of the prepared Schiff base and metal complexes was carried out through FT-IR spectroscopic technique. All synthesized compounds are tested against various species of bacteria and fungi and it was found that Cd complex is much more effective than others.
