Representation of domestic violence in Pakistani Dramas; Perceptions and experiences among women

The study examined the experiences and perceptions of women regarding the representation of domestic violence in Pakistan dramas. Cultivation theory was used as the theoretical framework. For conducting this research, qualitative methods were used. The researchers used thematic analysis and collected the data using in-depth interviews with the sample that consisted of 10 educated housewives to understand the views of women about the effects of these dramas on their thinking pattern. Therefore, the findings concluded that the representation of domestic violence dramas has negative effects on women's thinking patterns as well as such kinds of dramas promote toxic relationships and normalize domestic violence.
