Item Social support, persistent stress, and imposter syndrome in IT developers(UMT, Lahore, 2024) Abeera Anjum; Rimsha Amjad; Javeria RehmanThis study discovers the compound relationships between social support, persistent stress, and imposter syndrome among IT developers. As the IT industry experiences fast growth and change, developers face unique challenges, including high expectations, constricted deadlines, and the need for nonstop learning. These pressures often lead to persistent stress, impairing feelings of insufficiency and self doubt, commonly mentioned to as imposter syndrome. The research highlights the critical role of social support in justifying these adverse effects. It examines how support from colleagues, counsellors, and family can barrier against stress and enhance job satisfaction. Applying a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 300 IT developers in software houses in Lahore, using authenticated scales to measure social support, persistent stress, and imposter syndrome. Findings show that higher levels of perceived social support associate with reduced stress and lower cases of imposter syndrome. Additionally, demographic factors such as gender, marital status, and educational background significantly impact these relationships.
