Item Self-esteem(UMT.Lahore, 2020) ABEER KHALID; KALSOOM MARWAT; HAFSA ARSHADThe main objective of this research was to investigate the relationship between Self Esteem, Social Anxiety, and Academic Achievement among University Students. Self-Esteem and Social Anxiety are the important psychological issues. Research findings indicate that individuals with high social anxiety experience weak performance and decreased social contact and problems in academic achievement. Furthermore, self-esteem is strongly linked to academic achievement (Arshad et al., 2015). Thus, it was hypothesized that there will be a positively significant relationship between self-esteem, social anxiety, and academic achievement. Self-esteem and social anxiety would predict academic achievement. Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS), and Academic Achievement as CGPA these scales were used in this research. The sample for the study consisted of 200 participants (100 male and 100 female) university students in undergraduated, postgraduated both were selected for data collection. Data collection was analyzed by using SPSS, including Correlational Cross-Sectional Research Design to examine the relationship between Self-Esteem, Social Anxiety, and Academic Achievement. Descriptive Statistics, Independent sample t-test, Pearson Product Moment Correlation, and Regression analyses were employed to conclude the data. The results show that academic achievement has a positively significant relationship with self-esteem and negatively correlated with social anxiety. Self-esteem has a negative relationship with social anxiety. Male students have slightly higher self-esteem as compared to female students. Female students appear to have more social anxiety as compared to male students.
