Item University students’ perspectives on best practices for online teaching during pandemic covid-19(UMT Lahore, 2021) ABID HUSSAIN ZAFARThis study aimed to investigate the university students’ perspective on best practices for online teaching during pandemic COVID-19. Online learning is still new and has not been fully experienced like classroom learning. Online teaching demands that both teachers and students have proper awareness of the use of technology and online teaching-learning skills. This study used a qualitative research design. In this study, the researcher used purposive sampling to get in-depth information about online teaching. The sample of this study was graduate (female) students who completed a minimum of one semester with online education and learning during the pandemic. This study was conducted at a private university in Lahore, Pakistan. The data analysis revealed common themes, which indicated the best practices for online teaching and learning. It has been concluded that teachers need to choose various teaching methods to meet the learning objectives. This study's findings positively responded to the online teaching skills and expertise in online teaching courses. The results have been discussed from various perspectives, and some suggestions based on findings have been put forward. The instructors ensured the participation of the students in online teaching classes for their improved learning. Online learning and teaching outcomes are satisfactory, while students' challenges still require infrastructure and institutional provision development. The institutional provision contains instructor teaching strategies to improve information technology and computer expertise and a multi-disciplinary team to develop course strategy and supply.
