Abstract
This project report covers the design and implementation of an algorithm for vehicle identification using an image of its registration number. The algorithm takes as input an image of a license plate and outputs the registration number in text format. The cross correlation function is used in the algorithm for pattern matching. The algorithm is implemented using MATLAB.
