Abstract
This study contains empirical research focusing on the relationship between worker’s safety behavior and its impact on labor productivity at construction sites. Literature review shows not a lot of work has been done to examine this relationship. A questionnaire survey was developed and pilot test was performed. The modified questionnaire was then distributed between construction workers yielding 259 reliable responses. SPSS software was used for the analysis of the obtained data which was followed by Cronbach’s Alpha test and chi square test. The former was used to identify weather the data was reliable or not and latter for the examination of the relationship between the category of contractor and level of major accidents during
construction work. The findings after analysis of the given data shows the perspective of the labors towards safety and the resultant effect on conductivity varied according to the category of the contract. The result of the research provides a solution for the amplification of productivity which is the basic need for all construction companies.
