participate in the decision concerning their adjustment. This research was mainly focused on how
symbolic violence causes hindrance in the social adjustment of divorced Pakistani women. The
theoretical concept of (Bourdieu’s theory of symbolic violence) was applied for the identification of
symbolic violence. A total of 5 divorced Pakistani women were selected using purposive sampling.
