The faculty is the heart of the academy. To this end, addressing the developmental needs of the faculty should be a central mission of any institution of higher education. The quality of research output of the faculty working in a higher education institution is among the topics of contemporary debates in academia. Pakistan's Higher Education Commission provides a complete framework for faculty development centered on research activities. Implementing these policies is mandatory for all public and private universities of Pakistan. This study's core aim was to discover the role of the Higher Education Commission's research policy in university faculty's career development. The paradigm of the research was pragmatism. The study followed the fourth variant “multilevel model” of the triangulation design of mixed methods. The role of HEC was critically evaluated in three levels as per the requirements of the multilevel model of triangulation design. The decoration of design was level I (content analysis of the HEC’s research policies), level-II (survey analysis) & level-III (interview).
