Face recognition from image is a popular topic in biometrics research. In last couple of years, a lot of research has been done in this field. The actual advantages of face based identification over other biometrics are uniqueness and acceptance. In this research paper, two new feature based approaches have been introduced. Results of this paper demonstrate that our approaches outperform the already existing approaches of face recognition including Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Feature Based approaches. The goal of this paper is to evaluate various face detection and recognition methods, provide complete solution for image based face detection and recognition with higher accuracy and better response rate. Various approaches including Brute force, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) using Eigen faces, Feature based Extraction using Active Shape Model (ASM) and Feature based Extraction using BoRMaN have been implemented in this research paper. This research paper provides comparison of these approaches along with their results.en_US
