Abstract
Sometimes it's not the people who change it’s the mask that falls off When nobody is who they seem to be and everybody is hiding something? Just follow me into the world of lies! How could human beings have two faces, one that’s exposed to light the other that clings to the dark? These are the people that change their masks depending on which part of them they are going to display to the other person. We could better understand the behavior of people if we had more insight into the issues and reasons that underlie these double identities. It seems to me as if they have two sides, one side for the external world, and another side that they keep at home. Just like light and dark have opposite sides, two-faced people change depending on the circumstance. Some people show a blatantly sunny and affable side that makes you want to hug them. Others, on the other hand, might disclose a false, manipulative side, which equates to a shadow. The people suffering from several personalities or personas get the name ‘double-faced’. Double-faced people might be either kind or evil, just as light and shade can co-habit. In the same way that the people with two faces might have a sunny side matched by an evil half, light and shade can stand next to each other and yet have their own properties.
