Abstract
Smart grid is a better management system which monitors load in real time to keep balance between supply and demand. Now IOT plays an important role in smart grids for better management and tracking of consumption in real time, and it also provides better communication between smart devices like AMI (advance metering infrastructure) and smart appliances etc. Smart grid also provides two-way communication between user and provider end to avoid any kind of theft of electricity and provides integrity billing system etc. So, this paper shows IOT based smart grid which have multiple subunits: Theft detection, real time billing, net metering technique and wireless communication between Distributer and consumer for better tracking of load, consumption and any kind of electricity theft and line losses. This paper shows theft detection which resolves the line tapping issues, which is a major issue in theft of electricity. In addition to theft detection, it also provides real time billing system for integrity of billing system. Furthermore, this paper also shows the net metering technique.
