| dc.description.abstract | Lahore is a leading commercial center and Gulberg is the most famous commercial area in Lahore. As Gulberg is developed in 1950s as a residential and commercial areas . When the commercial area of Gulberg has been started to develop then more vehicular movement in this area causes problem like pollution, environmental issues, creation of Urban Heat Island and increased Air Quality Index. The parks and green spaces in Gulberg area were less in number to perform their function for the socio-environmental well-being of population. The areas in north were highly lacking of parks. The available open spaces and parks are not sufficient to take the load of the development and vehicular movement in the area So, we suggested the Development of Urban Forest and Development of Roof Top Gardening in Gulberg to overcome the environmental issues, to ensure the Air Quality Index decreases and to reduce the Urban Heat Island. | |
