dc.description.abstractThe main objective of this study was to explore the emotional intelligence of hearing impaired students and the association between emotional intelligence and academic performance in segregated and inclusive education systems in Punjab, Pakistan. Moreover, the usage of social media by hearing-impaired students was also explored, as was the moderating role of social media usage between emotional intelligence and the academic performance of hearing-impaired students in segregated and inclusive education settings. In the current study, emotional intelligences‟ sub-scales of, such as self-regard, empathy, emotional self-awareness, flexibility, interpersonal skills, impulse control, optimism, problem-solving, assertiveness and stress tolerance, were measured in both education systems and their relationship with the academic performance of hearing-impaired students.
