Abstract
Since time immemorial, the village women of Pakistan especially the simplicity they portray in their daily to and for have been inspiring. Among them, one stands out prominently: a woman who was not only single, but a hardworking woman who showed dedication by raising her children. This mother who was a domestic worker, being a manager of her home and doing traditional village work including embroidery, stitching and making of ‘palang’ – traditional wooden beds, are the assertive and creative village women. There is more that was gained from her efforts as she not only took care of the family needs but also ensured that cultural practices that are not common today were upheld. The purpose of concentrating on this topic is to showcase these amazing ladies to society for their importance in sustaining and developing cultural practices. That however does not mean that these traditions should be done away with, it is important to note that they be made relevant with the modernization process. To the young generation, each successful performance is an embodiment of village women who have a strong sense of value to pass on their newfound skills and craftsmanship. With the above approach being an innovative way of embracing and continue practicing such skills formalized, culture practiced by such women is likely to be valued and passed from one generation to another. This tribute will be pay to them as a way of honouring and maintaining their legacies so that future generations can understand the importance of these traditions.
