Abstract
The current study is aimed to examine the relationship between life satisfaction and psychological well-being of individuals with hearing impairment. The present study intended to investigate the level of life satisfaction among individuals with hearing impairment, underline the most common dimension of psychological well-being among persons with hearing impairment, investigate the relationship between psychological well-being and life satisfaction and to find out the demographic factors which have any effect on the psychological well-being and life satisfaction of individuals with hearing impairment. It was a quantitative research carried out using cross-sectional survey method. Data was collected from 100 participants with hearing disability using non- -probability sampling technique namely as purposive sampling method. Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWL) (Diener et al., 1985) and Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scales (PWB) (Ryff & Keyes, 1995) scales were used along with a demographic form to collect data. Means were compared using t-Test and correlation analysis was conducted to study relationship among variables using IBM SPSS. Results indicated that no gender difference was found and life satisfaction was found to have strong positive significant correlation with psychological well-being.
