Abstract
The purpose of research study is to investigate the impact of supplier integration on Supply-side
resilience with the interventions by supplier sustainability and supplier flexibility. The researcher
was also interested to explore and examine that how these two distinct intervening variables
supplier sustainability and supplier flexibility can act in conjunction and sequentially mediate the
linkage between supplier integration and supply-side resilience. The research is theoretically
grounded in the dynamic capability view (DCV) and the researches hypothesize that integration
of the focal firm with its suppliers leads to sustainability on the supplier’s side, which makes
them more flexible to work with during disruptive circumstances and results in reinforcing
resilience on the supply side. The authors conducted the research country wide through a cross
sectional design, with a research survey as a data collection tool, targeting SCM professionals in
various industries resulting in the final sample size of 181 for the final analysis. The research
findings confirmed the postulated notion and the resulted outcome from every hypothesis turned
out to be significant. These findings establish and support the authors conjectures that supplier
integration impacts supply-side resilience in a positive manner. The results also confirm the
existence of sequential mediation through intervention of supplier sustainability and supplier
flexibility between the focal and the factor variables. This research advances the body of
knowledge and contributes theoretically in the supply chain research by identifying the
underlying mechanisms through which supplier integration augments Supply-side Resilience
both independently and sequentially through supplier sustainability and supplier flexibility.
