Abstract
Purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between leadership behaviors of secondary school principals and teachers’ trust. This research adopted quantitative approach to conduct the study and accordingly it falls in positivism paradigm philosophically. The study is descriptive in its specific nature. The study adopted a survey approach. Two instruments MLQ scale and T-scale were used. MLQ scale was adapted and T-scale was developed. The target population of this study was all private high school teachers in the district of Lahore, province Punjab, Pakistan. Data were collected from 400 secondary school teachers from 20 private secondary schools of Lahore city by using convenient sampling technique. Data analysis has been done by using mean, standard deviation, Pearson Product correlation and Multiple Regression analysis. The findings suggests that leadership behaviors of school principals were more transformational than transactional and laissez-fair in the perceptions of teachers. There is a strong significant correlation between leadership behaviors and teachers’ trust. This study will develop the leadership behaviors of school principals to increase trust level with teachers.
