Abstract
Employee resilience is a critical factor in organisational success, yet its relationship with
workplace uncertainty remains underexplored. This study investigates the impact of uncertainty
on employee resilience with the mediating role of employee control and psychological distress and
the moderating role of supervisor support; drawing upon the Conservation of Resources (COR)
theory. With a focus on the ride-hailing sector, data was gathered from 268 participants through
self-reported measures with temporal separation. The findings showed that uncertainty
significantly decreased employee resilience; yet, the presence of psychological distress and
employee control reduced this effect, showcasing a fully mediating and complementary
relationship. Interestingly, the relationship between uncertainty and resilience was not
significantly moderated by supervisor support, indicating that other forms of support might be
better suited under these circumstances
