Abstract
The main purpose of the study is to examine the effect of leaders’ behavior on faculty performance. The study also identified the behaviours of male and female Head of Departments (HoDs’), and self-perceived level of faculty members’ performance in women and co-education public universities of the Punjab, Pakistan. Moreover, the research explored the factors of faculty’s performance which are affected by the HoDs. Finally, it investigated behaviours of the leader which positively or negatively affect the faculty’s performance. The philosophical paradigm of the study is pragmatism, and
mixed methods approach has been employed to conduct the research. More specifically, within the mixed methods approach, concurrent triangulation design - convergence model has been used. The population of the study consists of 197 faculty members from 28 Education departments of 13 public sector universities of the Punjab province of Pakistan. All the 197 faculty members are taken in the sample for the quantitative part of the study. This strategy is labeled as a census sampling technique. Faculty members have assessed their HOD’s behaviours and their own performance.
