Abstract
This article examines the transformation of a historic building near Gaddafi Square, originally designed by prominent architect Nair Ali Dada, into an Islamic Research Center the burden of the government decided to repurpose the building as a research center focusing on Islamic studies Exemplified primarily by pressure from the Bayt al-Hikma in Baghdad and the Royal Society in London, the renovated space aims to help reconstruct religious thought and encourage scholarly research Reminiscent of Mughal architecture, the design of the building provides the perfect backdrop for the Islamic Observatory. Arched buildings, arched walkways and wood paneling characterize the interior, creating a peaceful and conducive atmosphere for study and meditation The building has three floors, each of which has been carefully restored to suit different functions. Basement floor has useful facilities like restaurant, industrial area, storage and conference rooms to cater to researchers and visitors Ground floor has multimedia room, lecture hall, Islamic gallery, reception area and prayer hall encourages fellowship and spiritual reflection Quietly Provides a setting and encourages exploration and discovery. Through thoughtful interior design and strategic use of space, this thesis proposes a holistic approach to transforming a historic building into a vibrant center of Islamic research. Sen innovated while embracing innovation and respecting tradition.
