Abstract
This documentation presents a comprehensive overview of an PIR Motion Detection System, this project presents the development of an intelligent motion detection system leveraging Raspberry Pi technology, aimed at providing real-time surveillance capabilities with cloud-based notifications and data backup. The system utilizes a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, equipped with a PIR motion sensor and a camera module, to detect movement within a monitored area. Upon detecting motion, the system captures images at user-defined intervals and uploads them to a Firebase real-time database for storage and instant access. Firebase, serving as the cloud backbone, not only stores captured images but also facilitates real-time notifications to users through an Android application. This application allows users to remotely manage the system by configuring settings such as image capture intervals, enabling or disabling motion detection, and accessing historical records of motion-triggered events. Additional features include the ability to adjust motion sensitivity, schedule active monitoring periods, and manually trigger image capture. The project demonstrates a comprehensive approach to integrating hardware components with cloud services and mobile application development, ensuring robust, scalable, and user-friendly remote surveillance. The implementation provides a secure, efficient, and flexible solution suitable for various applications, including home security, remote monitoring, and automated alert systems.
